It is only through the generosity of others that DSI is able to provide an array of services to children and adults with Down syndrome. It is a privilege to serve babies with Down syndrome by providing support and guidance to their parents. We assist parents from the time they learn of their child’s diagnosis (before birth in some cases) and throughout their child’s life. We also serve adults with Down syndrome.

By donating to DSI, you make a real difference in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. There are thousands of people in the United States living with Down syndrome today. That number is growing as people with Down syndrome now live into their fifties and sixties with improved standards of living and health care, and inclusion in family and community life. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals from infancy through adulthood and your support will help us to continue our mission.

There are several ways to make a tax-deductable donation to the DSI.

General Donation

All general donations large or small are very much appreciated and will be acknowledged.

Honor/Memorial

Gifts made in memory of or in honor of a loved one are used to support the objectives and mission of the DSI unless otherwise specified. These gifts can be used to recognize a birthday, graduation, or anniversary. These gifts are recognized in our newsletter Common Bonds.

Matching Gifts

A great way to increase your donation to the DSI is through your employer. Many companies offer a matching gift program to their employees, directors, employees' spouses or retirees as an added benefit. With these programs, a company will match an employee's gift to charitable and educational organizations.

Contact your Human Resources Office for eligibility requirements and to obtain a Matching Gift form. (Many companies match the gifts of retirees, spouses, surviving spouses and outside directors.)

Planned Giving

Planned gifts can be made in many ways including bequests by will, gift of life insurance, charitable trusts, gift annuities, and gifts of appreciated assets such as real estate, securities, etc.

To those friends who wish to help assure the continuation and growth of the DSI by mentioning the DSI in your will, the following general form is suggested: “I give, devise, and bequeath unto the Down Syndrome Indianai (DSI), an Indiana nonprofit organization, located at 2625 N Meridian #49, Indianapolis, INi, OH 46208, the sum of $________ .” or “______ percent of my net estate.” or “the following stocks or bonds ______________ to be used for the DSI mission.”

Gift in Kind

If you have a product, service, or other item that you would like to donate to the DSI, you may donate it as a Gift-in-Kind. Non-cash gift examples are design services, printing services, advertising space, food, beverages, books, etc.

A gift-in-kind to the DSI is tax deductible under state and federal laws. We will send you a gift receipt acknowledging your contribution of goods or services. You will determine the value of your gift-in-kind donation.
