How Do I Get Involved?
Welcome to Down Syndrome Indiana!
Below I am going to outline a few resources that I believe will be very helpful to you in getting connected to the Down syndrome community here in Indiana. If you need more information, or have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact DSI!
Down Syndrome Indiana offers a number of programs and services. Here are just a few of our highlights:

The Parent Loop – Parents! Join the Down Syndrome Indiana email Parent Loop to connect with other Indiana parents of children and adults with Down syndrome. Share questions, concerns, and joys; learn of events coming up; gain and give support – all from your computer! To join:

- Click the button “Join This Group!”
- Follow the instructions and wait for email approval
- Be sure to check your Junk/Spam Inbox if you do not see an email for approval within a week.

D.A.D.S. Loop – Same concept as the parent loop but geared toward fathers. (very entertaining!)
common bonds- A quarterly informational newsletter published by Down Syndrome Indiana. The policy of Down Syndrome Indiana is not to endorse any medical, therapeutic, or educational alternatives. This newsletter is to provide information about current developments within the Down syndrome community. I have signed you up for the e-mail list. Event Notices, Annual Report, & E-mail Communications - To subscribe to DSI publications please contact our Member Service Coordinator by e-mail at email@example.com by phone at (317) 925-7617. You may also subscribe to DSI publications by registering for an account at http://www.dsindiana.org/subscriberRegistration.php.
Trisomy Tuesday e-news - DSI offers registered users of our website a weekly newsletter delivered electronically via your e-mail. To subscribe to this publication be sure to select it during the registration process or just e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Remember to set email@example.com a safe sender so that our e-mails don’t end up in your junk mail folder.
Online Calendar of Events- our online calendar lists all details of upcoming events, allowing online registration of most events to registered users. Details about events can be imported to your Outlook calendar by simply clicking on the icon show next to the event details.
Register for Events Online - Did you know that you can now register for DSI events online? Trisomy Tuesdays! - Trisomy Tuesdays are designed to inform parents, professionals and volunteers on the current issues involving Down syndrome. The 4th Tuesday of every month from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Childcare and light refreshments are provided. The following are topics that are scheduled for 2012:

Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome - Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome, or D.A.D.S. is a DSI group of fathers with children who happen to have Down syndrome. We host regular meetings where our members come together to share insights and experiences.
D.A.D.S. meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm.

Buddy Walk® - Each year Down Syndrome Indiana gathers with the community to celebrate the successes of individuals with Down syndrome, promoting acceptance and inclusion. It is a fun filled day that is also our largest annual fund raiser.
The Buddy Walk® is a 2.6 mile no-fee walk along the canal beginning at Celebration Plaza in White River State Park. Proceeds from the walk help fund Down Syndrome Indiana programs and services that help individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
