World Down Syndrome Day

Down Syndrome Indiana is honored to participate in World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. Originated by Down Syndrome International (DSi), organizations from all over the world host activities and events to help raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome, and how people with Down syndrome play a vital role in our lives and communities.

This year, Down Syndrome Indiana is excited to take part in the National Down Syndrome Congress' "3...2...1... Dance!" campain to celebrate the talents of individuals with Down syndrome, empower self advocate's to highlight thier capabilities, and to HAVE FUN!

Please join us for a “Flash Mob” Dance Celebration at the Indianapolis International Airport on Friday, March 21, 2014. We will begin to gather our group at 3:00pm and music will being playing in the main lobby at 3:21pm.  Parking is available in the Terminal Garage at the Airport for $2.00 per ½ hour. Down Syndrome Indiana also will be working with local vendors to provide a shuttle service.

We will be dancing to "What Makes you Beautiful" by One Direction - it has a great positive message!
