Meet the DSI Staff
Angie has volunteered with Down Syndrome Indiana since September 2006. Angie was awarded the National Down Syndrome Society Self Advocate of the Year award in 2014 and the Colts Golden Horseshoe Award in 2010. In addition to working for Down Syndrome Indiana, Angie also volunteers her time for Best Buddies Indiana, Windemere Nursing home and Community North Hospital, as well as, working for the YMCA and Kohl’s.
Regional Events Coordinator
Lilly graduated from Purdue University where she studied Youth, Adult, and Family Services. She was born and raised in Boilermaker Country-Boiler Up! Her and her husband, Ryan, still live in Lafayette, IN with their two sons: John and Eli, and their dog Brees. After her son Eli was born chromosomally enhanced she became involved with Down Syndrome Indiana and her local parent support group the Lafayette Area Down Syndrome Organization. She quickly fell in love with the Buddy Walk® and discovered a new passion for fundraising. She feels extremely blessed to have been given the chance to work for Down Syndrome Indiana. She is thankful for all the parents, families, and friends who join with Down Syndrome Indiana to enhance the lives of our loved ones with Down Syndrome.
Stephanie Garner graduated from Franklin College with her undergraduate degree in psychology and from Indiana University with a Masters in Kinesiology. She has a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities and is excited to be part of the team at Down Syndrome Indiana. Stephanie began attending DSI events after the birth of her daughter, Lily, who just happens to have an extra chromosome. She states, "Working at Down Syndrome Indiana is a dream come true! DSI is such and amazing organization that has done so much to support our family." Stephanie resides in Plainfield with her husband and daughter.
Member Services Coordinator
Stephanie attended Purdue University at Indianapolis earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and worked in the Quality Assurance field before early "retirement" to raise her three children while also providing childcare for several friends and family members. After becoming involved with Down Syndrome Indiana after the birth of her daughter Katie, Stephanie states, “I continue to be truly grateful for the opportunity to officially work for our Down Syndrome Indiana families and treasure all the new experiences that have come along.”
Stephanie resides in Beech Grove with husband Ray and three children.
Lafayette Area Coordinator
Renee graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Individual and Family Development. She has been a volunteer with Down Syndrome Indiana since 2008 as the Community Group Leader for the Lafayette Area Down Syndrome Organization. Renee lives in Tippecanoe county with her husband Jon and their two children, Ben and Caroline. Caroline was blessed with an extra chromosome. Renee is excited to continue her work in the Down syndrome community as a staff member of DSI.
Lisa has an undergraduate degree in Civic Leadership and a Master's in Strategic Leadership and Design from the University of Indianapolis. She began working for the organization in 2006. Currently, Lisa chairs the State of Down syndrome Workgroup for the national trade association, Affiliates in Action. She also serves on the commission for the Indiana Protection and Advocacy Services. Lisa states, "This is what I am meant to be doing! This is truly a wonderful organization and I am honored to be a part of it." Lisa resides in Fishers with her husband, three children and their Golden Retriever.
